Overview

Title of Position: Trailer Mechanic

Shifts available: 1st Shift (8am Start)
Location: Morrisville, PA

 

Signing Bonus:
A Mechanic Ranking: $15,000 (Paid in $3,000 installments at 30 Days, 90 days, 180 days, 270 days and 365 days)
B Mechanic Ranking: $10,000 (Paid in $2,000 installments at 30 Days, 90 days, 180 days, 270 days and 365 days)
C Mechanic Ranking: $4,000 (Paid in two $2,000 installments at 90 days, and 180 days)

So what does a Silvi Materials Trailer Mechanic do?

  • Maintain a safe and professional working environment
  • Diagnose and perform preventative maintenance for a variety of trailers including but not limited to: bulk cement, lowboys, flatbeds, reefers, landscape, equipment trailers, etc
  • Inspect trailers for defects and potential safety hazards.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including brake adjustments, tire replacement, and electrical system repairs.
  • Replace and repair trailer components such as axles, suspension systems, and lighting.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding repair needs and timelines.
  • Weld broken assemblies, subassemblies and/or other parts, as required.
  • Uses, stores, records, safeguards and properly uses equipment, materials, parts and other supplies.
  • Maintain shop and work area in a clean and organized manner.
  • Prepare reports and records of time spent, materials, parts used and work completed.
  • Respond and handle road service calls as needed with the use of a company service vehicle.

Qualifications Required as a Silvi Materials Trailer Mechanic:

  • Trailer repair and maintenance experience of preferably at least 3 years for a medium to large size company.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to read and understand maintenance and parts manuals, maintenance and wiring diagrams, schematics and other written instructions related to the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of trailer components and systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with safety regulations, i.e. OSHA, DOT as they apply to the operation
  • Ability to perform maintenance and repairs in a garage and/or the field, in conformance with the specifications contained in the applicable maintenance manuals, diagrams and/or instructions.
  • Possesses a sense of urgency and ownership
  • Excellent follow-up skills with the ability to complete assignments/projects through to completion.
  • Possesses analytical, problem solving and customer service sills.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.

  • See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
  • Lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds on occasion.
  • Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objectsUse muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects.
  • Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired.
  • Move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place.
