So, what does a trainee in our Diesel Parts/Inventory Program Do? As a Trainee, you'll be an integral part of our Parts/Diesel Shop operations:
- Work with Parts Management to support parts and inventory for our largest diesel shop.
- Conducts inventory checks of truck parts and tools.
- Purchases equipment, tools, parts, and supplies as needed.
- Submits purchase orders (P.O.s) for approval.
- Maintains a safe and professional working environment. Attends: daily Tool Box Talks, daily Safety Inspections, monthly Environmental Inspections and submit a weekly PM Report.
- Helps with preventative maintenance schedules for heavy-duty diesel vehicles and mobile equipment.
Qualifications Required as a Silvi Diesel Parts/Inventory Development Trainee:
- Experience in fleet/transportation, repair and maintenance experience for a medium to large size company with multiple facilities preferred.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge and experience with safety regulations, i.e. OSHA, DOT as they apply to the operation.
- Valid Driver’s License
- High School Diploma/GED
- Currently enrolled and/or completed a community college and or technical school program (Diesel and or Automotive) (Preferred not required)
