Silvi Materials, a vertically integrated, manufacturer and supplier of Ready Mix Concrete and construction grade aggregates is seeking an Assistant Corporate Controller for its Morrisville, PA headquarters. Through a combination of growth and acquisitions, Silvi Materials has become one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of concrete products and construction grade aggregates in the Northeast, US. In addition, the company maintains expansive Real Estate operations and a high-volume import terminal in Bucks County, PA.

 

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the assistant controller will lead all daily general ledger accounting activity and will assist the controller in providing timely and accurate financial information for strategic direction and planning for the executive management of the Group. This will include having responsibility for financial accounting and operating activities, including daily operations reporting, monthly and quarterly closings, tax compliance, and longer-term activities as appropriate, and will assist the Controller in maintaining a system of internal financial controls and maintaining the integrity of financial records.

 So, what does a Silvi Materials Assistant Controller do?

  • Accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
  • Supervise staff and senior level accountants
  • Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements and operating reports.
  • Assist in the year-end audit audit process
  • Providing management with accurate and timely information vital to the decision making process.
  • Assist in the improvement of accounting and internal control systems.
  • Special Projects/assignments as directed by the Controller.
  • Overseeing regulatory (state and local tax) reporting and compliance.

 Qualifications Required:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and possess the following:

  • Must have at least a B.S. degree with major in accounting or finance.
  • Must have at least five years relevant experience, in a large scale, manufacturing environment.
  • Well-experienced, focused on business objectives and highly effective in dealing with a broad range of internal and external customers.
  • Possesses solid communication, analytical, and management skills including extensive accounting software and spreadsheet experience.
  • Possesses knowledge of all aspects of basic accounting.
  • Manufacturing, cost accounting or auditing experience is also highly valued.
  • Possesses the flexibility/adaptability to change projects on short notice.
