Safety Intern

Title of Position: Safety Intern- Summer 2025

Locations: Based out of Fairless Hills, PA but travel to all PA & NJ sites!

Through a combination of growth and acquisitions, Silvi Materials have together become one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of concrete products in the Northeast, US. Today, Silvi Materials manufactures concrete at multiple state locations and supplies those plants with materials from Silvi owned mining operations and a deep-water port facility.

As a Silvi Materials Safety Intern, you will have the opportunity to tap into the world of concrete and learn what the world’s most used building material it is all about. You will get to work alongside our Top-Notch Safety team while building on your skills. Your 10–12-week expereince will include everything from getting MSHA Certified, Field visits/inspections, accident and injury review & so much more! The goal of the Safety Internship is to provide individuals with a hands-on approach to what it takes to be part of Construction Materials company HSE team!

So, what does a Safety Intern do? You'll be an integral part of our Safety Team:

• Get MSHA certified! (Company Paid Training)
• Field visits to our various mines, concrete plants, and client sites to conduct safety inspections (Exposure to all Silvi Locations)
• Conducting safety audits in supervision of the safety department.
• Participate in the accident & injury investigations.
• Developing daily Safety Communications/ Training Materials
• (Applying the regulatory standards of OSHA/MSHA/DOT and Hazard Recognition Training to our safety and operational practices. (Real world experiences)

Qualifications Required:

• Enrollment and continuation of a Bachelors’ program preferably in the fields of Occupational Health and Safety, or a similar course of study!
• Ability to work a schedule of 10-12 hour per day and some Saturdays.
• Proficient in MS suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work well with team members.
• Excellent communication skills. 
• Able to work comfortably in a manufacturing and outdoor environment in addition to some office use. 
• Valid Driver’s License

• Lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds on occasion.

• Stand for long periods of time.
• Kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, stretch, twist or crawl.

• See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
• See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
