Overview

Title of Position: Quality Haul Truck Driver

Location: Belle Mead, NJ

Shift: 1st Shift 5:00am-5:00pm

As a Haul Truck Driver is responsible for transporting aggregate rock to our crushing equipment. Additionally, we encourage the Haul Truck Drivers to participate in company paid, continuing education to stay abreast of industry best practices and safety compliance. To help achieve that goal, we offer on the job training, formal course work for certifications and tuition reimbursement.

So, what does a Silvi Materials Quarry Haul Truck Driver Do?

  • Safely and adeptly drives haul trucks to transport rock or product from one area to another, into stockpiles and into loaders.
  • Able to drive automatic, stick shift, and various speed trucks.
  • Performs pre and post trip inspections and performs daily maintenance as needed.
  • Maintains cleanliness of equipment.
  • Ability to operate large front end loaders and other mechanized construction equipment safely and adeptly.
  • Load material from a stockpile inside and outside the quarry.
  • Must be able to estimate load size for a vehicle and not over or under load a truck.
  • Must do general cleanup around all areas.
  • Ability to build up and maintain a stockpile of material.
  • Check, service and assist in making minor and emergency adjustments and repairs in the field and in the repair shop.
  • Perform labor and landscaping duties.

Qualifications Required:

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Previous commercial driving experience a strong plus
  • CDL A or B is preferred but not required
  • Maintain the highest standard of production goals and safety
  • Load and discharge aggregate material including rock, sand, and dirt
  • Ability to climb up and down, in and out of machines and trucks.
  • Ability to withstand bouncing motion for the duration of a work shift in machines.
  • Experience operating a front end loader highly preferred. Experience operating similar heavy equipment commercially driving a 10K lb+ vehicle will be considered depending on the machinery.
  • Knowledge of the common reasons for mechanical failure and the steps necessary to correct malfunctioning.
  • Knowledge and experience with safety regulations, i.e. OSHA, as they apply to the operation
  • Ability to respond with flexibility and efficiency to frequent changes in task focus, competing priorities, and multiple deadlines

Physical Requirements

In a typical work setting, people in this job:

· Lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds on occasion.

· Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects

· Stand for long periods of time.

· Kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, stretch, twist or crawl.

· Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.

· See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.

· See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
