Location: Bristol, PA

As a Silvi Materials, Railyard Operator/ Industrial Maintenance Mechanic one completes numerous tasks involved in the operation and coordinator of rail card orders. While also working on the installation, fabrication, maintenance and repair of production and production-related equipment.

Position Essential Functions Responsibilities

 Rail Yard Responsibilities

  • Start up operations for overhead gantry loading equipment.
  • Coordinate rail car order, and devise loading sequence to meet customer expectations.
  • Instruct incoming deliveries on procedures for off-loading.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of railcar load quantities, maintain record of BoLs associated.
  • Prepare and execute daily checks of loading equipment, along with routine checks while in operation.
  • Minimize environmental impact of loading equipment.
  • Maintain and use safe practices while handling, maintaining, and operating equipment.
  • Use of proper PPE.
  • Follow procedures, and directions as presented by management

RCM Responsibilities

  • Work hours as directed for vessel unloading.
  • Troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Experience with conveyor systems and other aggregate handling equipment.
  •  Heavy machinery operating, front end loader, forklift, telehandler, skid-steer, etc.
  • Ability to perform physical labor as directed. Lifting up to 50-100lbs.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • At least one year’s experience in industrial maintenance required.
  • Possess a working knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
  • Experience in steel fabrication and welding highly preferred.
  • Experience in electrical panels and electrical machinery.
  • Experience in the maritime, shipping port, dock, or cement/concrete industry highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of varied types of motors and their operation highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, using diagram schematics and parts manual highly preferred.
  • Must have willingness to put in extra hours of work when necessary
  • Knowledge and experience with safety regulations, i.e. OSHA, MSHA, as they apply to the operation a plus.

Physical Demands

In a typical work setting, people in this job:

  • Lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds on occasion.
  • Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, stretch, twist or crawl.
  • Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
  • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
  • See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
