Overview

Title of Position: Roving Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Southampton, NJ 

Signing Bonus: $4,000 ($2,000 paid 3 months following date of hire, $2,000 paid 1 year following date of hire and continuous employment). Must be rated as at least an "A" or "B" Mechanic by Management.

As a Silvi Materials, Industrial Maintenance Mechanic one completes numerous tasks involved in the installation, fabrication, maintenance and repair of production and production-related equipment. They demonstrate initiative, responsibility, have good interpersonal skills and are flexible/adaptive to a fast-paced and fluid business environment.

So, what does an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Do? As a Maintenance Mechanic, you'll be an integral part of our plant operations team:

  • Performs maintenance and repairs on compressors, generators, fans and motors, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and other related equipment.
  • Evaluate equipment failures for root cause and work with manager and coworkers to find better improvements for equipment.
  • Install modifications to equipment as instructed by manager.
  • Follow PM schedules and procedures, recording all relevant information.
  • Properly balance systems and rigs for dismantling of mechanical equipment.
  • Welds metal parts together or repairs broken/cracked parts.
  • Overhauls equipment and installs new bearings, gears, valves, seals, linkages and other parts as required.
  • Lubricating, cleaning and services equipment.
  • Obtains, stores, records, safeguards and properly uses equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Maintains a safe, clean working area.
  • Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or drive a vehicle as needed.

 Qualifications Required as a Silvi Materials Maintenance Mechanic:

  • At least 5 years similar work experience.
  • Graduation from a technical or skills trades school preferred but not required. 
  • In a typical work setting, people in this job:
  • Lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds on occasion.
  • Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, stretch, twist or crawl.
  • Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
  • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
  • See differences between colors, shades, and brightness
